Sagamore Hills Elementary Wildcat Newsletter

Presidents' Message

The PTA is making a major effort this year to reduce the amount of paper we use for communications. For example, the paper newsletter will now be shorter and will go home quarterly instead of monthly. We are also encouraging all PTA committees to use email blasts and reduce the redundancy of fliers sent home in the Thursday packets. Finally, we are working to create a better process for combining paper announcements to remove the burden of Thursday packet-stuffing from our teachers and Room Parents. This will mean less paper-shuffling for all and less environmental waste.

Eventually, we hope to phase out most paper communications. However, we need all Sagamore families to provide a working email address. Please help us with this effort and keep an up-to-date email address with the PTA, your teachers, and the front office.

Innisbrook Fall FUNdraiser in Full Swing

Our annual Fall FUNdraiser with Innisbrook kicked off on Thursday 8/16, and in just over a week, we’ve made roughly $1,000. GREAT JOB to all of the kids who have worked so hard in such a short amount of time!

Our goal is $13,000 so we have a ways to go with three weeks left. The funds will be used to purchase instructional resources for our new Mac computer lab, and every child at Sagamore will benefit. If EVERY student at Sagamore sells just $60 worth of merchandise, we’ll make our goal. That’s about 6 items. Every child that sells 5 or more items will receive a power wristband AND get his/her name on a banana to be displayed on our banana tree outside the cafeteria for everyone to see!

Your sales can earn you great prizes and you will be entered in raffles for amazing giveaways! If sales are not for you, tax deductible donations of ANY amount are also welcome! Please be sure to register your child TODAY and don’t forget to check your sales brochure - someone has a chance to win a trip to Disney for 4 valued at $5,000!

Used Clothes Needed

Nurse Kat needs clothes for the "clothes closet". Sizes from 4T-14 are needed. Pants, T-shirts, socks and, yes, even underwear. She does not have space for sweatshirts. Plain is best but if there is a design or writing, it must be school dress code approved. A belt or two would be nice as well. Drop off you items to Nurse Kat in the clinic or in the front office.
