Here's how the Sagamore Hills PTA in its online efforts uses Dreamhost.
Services
Dreamhost does the following:
Accounts
Web ID
A DreamHost Web ID is a unique identifier that allows access to DreamHost's systems. The PTA uses a single Web ID.

Server
Server accounts are on the actual machine hosting services (such as a website). Probably not needed unless ftp/ssh access is needed (see the Dreamhost documentation for FTP, SFTP, and shell). The same account can host multiple domains/websites (but multiple server accounts cannot manage the same domain/website), so we'll probably just have one.
We are on the server goatsbeard.dreamhost.com , with the following accounts:

Wordpress
See the Sagamore Hills PTA website page (an example of an Dreamhost application user).
Database
The single MySQL database account, sagamorehillspta, is used by the PTA's Wordpress site (an example of a Dreamhost MySQL user).
Log
The log account, sagamore, is used to view website-access statistics, such as those of the PTA's website (an example of a Dreamhost stats user).
Billing
Since the PTA is a nonprofit, there is no charge under Dreamhost's nonprofit discount (established mid 2013) for their "Happy Hosting" service.
