Second grade students actually have two (possibly different) teachers/classrooms:

;Homeroom
: This is the teacher/classroom you were assigned at the beginning of the year where you go for homeroom at the beginning and end of the day. This is also the class you're with for [[Sagamore specials|specials]].
;Instructional
: This is the teacher/classroom you're with while learning the rest of the day: language arts, math, science. Students are assigned to teachers/classrooms according to ''differentiated learning''.
