A foundation for Sagamore Hills Elementary School doesn't exist (as of 2014), but is being considered.

Why

New funding options become available. Currently, the only way the school can be supported financially is by the Sagamore Hills Elementary School PTA, being a tax-exempt non-profit (501(c)(3)), the ways in which the money can be raised, managed, and spent, are limited. [expand]

  • 2014-03-04, PTA Co-Presidents, Board meeting minutes mention PTA/Foundation
PTA/Foundation- discussion of why we need PTA if we have a Foundation (and vice versa)... Foundation’s benefit is that corporations can donate to a Foundation and we have more flexibility for spending the funds we raise (in future school year), however our school currently is spread very thin with volunteers and we are concerned that adding another group that requires more volunteers...Setting up a Foundation has required full time attention at many of the schools we’ve interviewed (ex: Fernbank-Margaret Lesesne). Our school seems as if it has a great story for corporate grants, however we would still need leadership to find out whether this is truly the case... and if it warrants making a foundation the priority currently.
