Accelerated Reader (AR) encourages reading practice by allowing students to earn points after reading (or being read) select AR books.

Point goals

Points are awarded based on book difficulty and percentage of quiz questions answered correctly, with less than 60% correct earning zero points.

Books may be read to a student, students may read on their own, or any combination in-between.

Take a quiz

AR quizzes are taken on school computers. The following opportunities are available.

  • In the classroom during class at teacher discretion
  • In the Sagamore Library before or after school, subject to computer availability

From a school computer:

  1. "Renaissance Place" from the desktop
  2. Login in as: "Student"
  3. "User Name" is a student ID
  4. "Password" is the student's birthday as MMDD (December 30, 2006 = 1230)
