As part of STEM at Sagamore, let's have a Space Day!

Discussion takes place in the volunteer group (email • archivessubscribe & more), and notes/documentation should be compiled on this page (just hit "edit").

This year (2013-2014) all classes will take a half hour on both Thursday and Friday, May 8 & 9, to do something special; Fernbank Science Center will make a presentation in a portable planetarium, and a scale model of the solar system will be experienced on the school field.

WorldWide Telescope looks very comprehensive and can even be run in a web browser.

Scale webpage[edit]

Celestia[edit]

Celestia is no longer developed (since 2011). Perhaps investigate some alternatives to Celestia?

History[edit]

Space Day at Sagamore began when 2013 kindergarten parent Brian Gardiner started thinking about STEM at Sagamore, which led to discovering the NASA Exploration Design Challenge, which led to a meeting with Principal Martin where she suggested making an entire Space Day!
